Hello hello hello
This week we were helping this less active with her storage unit. She
hasn't really gone through it since the fire because things have been
SO crazy with getting other things figured out. It was crazy to thing
everything covered with smoke. But what we didn't know was there was a
MICE infestation in the storage unit ahhhhhhh if you guys remember
mice are definitely in my top 5 fears. I was so afraid haha I was
doing good until sister Randall said she saw a dead mouse in the box I
was holding... Talk about getting the nervous sweats in like 5 seconds
haha I hate mice. The things you do for people haha the mission is
helping me overcome my fears but it's not working
There is this guy named Mark and he is so cool. He is this lumber jack
kinda guy that we aren't sure why doesn't come to church but he is our
favorite. He is so funny and told us he will teach us how to split
wood. I told him that I was a baby when it comes to spicy things and
so This week when we saw him he gave us Scorpion pepper jelly aka
FIRE. I took a taste and I was like mark are you crazy are you trying
to kill me
This week it rained SO hard. We of course we're out tracting the day
it was raining so hard and got soaked. It was fun though. It's
interesting to see how there are some people who think you are crazy
for being a missionary and then how some people are so touched by your
devotion to work sunshine or rain. Let me tell you though when it's
raining is when we talk and get let in the most because people feel so
bad to have us be in the rain. Tracting in the rain. No pain no gain
This week was one of those weeks where almost every lesson fell
through. Three of our investigators dropped us. It was rough. After 6
hours of no luck and not being able to talk to anyone we came back for
dinner. We were standing in the kitchen trying to figure out what to
eat and me and sister Randall were like bad days make good days
better. I turned to sister Randall and Said "lets hug it'll make it
better" haha it sounds so silly, but it was a special moment where I
was grateful for sister Randall and so grateful to be a missionary. I
love to think what God sees as he is watching us. I can only imagine
how much love he has for His missionaries. For days it's really hard
and no one talks to you and you walk and walk and it rains and you
feel like you are doing nothing, and I imagine God looking down at us
and his heart is so full so full that he has sons and daughters
willing to do hard things because they love him, because they love his
son. I'm grateful for the unwavering testimony I have gained since
being on my mission that we have a savior and that he lives and this
is his work. Even though some days aren't always sunshine and
rainbows, I'm grateful to work and be surrounded by his unfailing
love. The love I feel towards Him is something I can't adequately
express. Love is powerful. love overcomes everything and anything.
Being a missionary is such a blessing.
On a positive note, we are teaching this man named Jon and he is doing
really awesome. He came to church. Can I get a whoohoooooooo??!! And
he prayed at our lesson in front of us. Can I get another WHOOHOOOO
again haha he is awesome. It can be at times really overwhelming for
him because it's a lot of new things and he has never read scriptures
or prayed before but he is doing so awesome. I love him. He's really
really shy but he started laughing during our lesson because of what
we said and so that was definitely one of those "ah yes moments"
You heard right, me and sister Randall are actually funny guys. We got
Jon to laugh.
We had zone conference this week and if there is anything I love more
than zone conference it's nothing ahaha does that even make sense haha
I love to see president wright and his wife. If you cant already tell
they are MY FAVORITE PEOPLE EVER. The meeting was really awesome and I
felt so uplifted and so inspired to be a better missionary. During the
meeting one of my favorite elders gave his departing testimony because
he goes home soon. The spirit was so strong. He shared a scripture
from Alma 56 and it says "..behold our God is with us, and he will not
suffer that we should fall; then let us go forth.." With tears falling
from his face, He said "I promise you that God will not let you fall".
It was so powerful. God will not let us fall, whether it be in the
mission, in life, in all things, God will not let us fall. He is with
us. He is always with us.
I testify, in the name is Jesus Christ, that we are never alone and
that we are loved infinitely more than we believe. I know He lives. I
know that because of Him we can be forgiven and be clean.
I am so grateful for my mission. My heart is full.
Godspeed
