hola hola hola
This week was an awesome week. I love this area. We had a super super
busy week which is always good to be busy as missionaries.
Sister Randall is so cute and just the best. She makes me laugh out
loud. She used to be quiet but she's not quiet anymore haha she is so
sweet. The other day we didn't have dinner and she cooked us some
dinner haha pizza and tater tots and orange juice haha I was like
thanks for dinner sister (picture included of dinner when sister
Randall cooks) every night before we go to bed, we tell each other why
we are grateful for each other. It is one of my favorite moments of
the day.
This week was funny some funny things happened hahaha first off the
worst thing happened to me well it's funny now but oh me oh my haha we
were at this less actives house and we were saying a prayer with them.
They had asked me to say it. As I was saying it the little dog that
was sitting on my lap, definitely invaded my personal bubble and stuck
it's tongue in my mouth as I was praying and it was so gross hahaha
sister Randall felt the dog moving and looked up at the moment the dog
pretty much French kissed me and she started laughing so hard silently
that the couch was shaking hahahaha it was so funny well now it is.
We helped this lady paint her house. We were painting for an hour and
I was really working hard but I got like nothing done. PAINTING A
HOUSE IS SO MUCH WORK. Remember guys, it's worth it to pay to get your
house painted. It's worth it. It's worth it haha painting a house is
so hard and so much work. It's worth the money, remember that.
We are trying to teach this lady and she knows more about the bible
than any other person I have ever met. Sometimes it can seem really
overwhelming and I think wow I do not know the bible that much. It's
been a testimony to me that God calls the simple and weak things of
the world to declare his gospel. I may not know the bible inside and
out but yet my simple conviction that this church is true is enough.
It's all I need.
We met this lady this week and our interaction with her really stuck
with me. She told us that she is an atheist and she doesn't believe in
God. We were talking about God and her thoughts on if he could exist.
As we were talking about the earth and how the body works it was such
a testimony to me that there is a god. Everywhere I look I see that he
is real. If the universe has a beginning then it must have a beginner.
God is real. I testify that He lives. As we were about to leave this
lady's house we asked if we could say a pray with her. She agreed and
it was really spiritual. Who knows if she felt the spirit or if she
could feel the existence of God but I know I did and maybe one day her
heart will be softened to the knowledge of a God. Isn't it so cook
guys that compared to God we are nothing but yet we are everything to
God? Never forget that. We are worth infinitely more than we can
fathom.
This week we were able to make contact with this inactive member. She
was baptized a few years ago but ran into some anti Mormon stuff and
has been inactive ever since. As we were talking to her, it was so sad
because she wanted so badly for the church to be true but she felt
that it wasn't. You could physically see how her insides were at
battle. She was so confused and lost and had let her doubt overcome
her faith. It was so sad to see. We had a really spiritual and
powerful lesson with her. It was really cool to see the spirit work on
her. We reminded her that if you at first get that confirmation that
the Book of Mormon is true, then that confirmation holds strong. No
one can orchestrate the feelings of the spirit. It's important that we
don't let the words of man overtake the feelings we feel from the
words of God. All we have to do is remember. That's the problem with
humans is we forget, we have these amazing powerful spiritual
experiences and we swear that we will never forget but we do. And
that's why we must constantly do those things that allow us to
remember. Remember that those things we felt were not created by man
but they could only come from God. The lesson with this lady was so
awesome and it really strengthened my testimony of the church.
Remember to remember.
We are teaching a man named Jon. Jon is so nice. He is super super
quiet but I love teaching him because he has real desires and has lots
of questions. He really wants to know if this church is true. I really
hope he can be baptized this transfer. He doesn't have any religious
background and today he texted us and told us that he prayed!! Isn't
that so awesome?? Jon prayed is that great or what!
This week was a really great week. It's been really busy and we have
worked really hard. I didn't even realize how tired I was. One night
when I went to say my prayers I fell asleep in my hands haha that's
never happened to me before but wow I was tired haha
The mission is great. I'm grateful that God takes weak things and
through Him they can be strong. I am grateful for the atonement of
Jesus Christ for the ability I have to change and become better. I'm
grateful for how much I have grown. I feel so blessed that God has
allowed a mission to be a part of my plan. It has changed me. This
week I have done a lot of thinking about the missionary I want to be
at the end of the mission. It's really pushed me to work harder to be
more positive and to remember that miracles happen every day. Remember
that miracles are real.
I love you guys so much and I'm so grateful for you all. Love you so much
Xoxo
